This homeowner living in Broomes Island, Maryland had a problem with her house wasting energy. She was always cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and had crazy high utility bills. That's why she went looking for a company who could help her with her problems, and she found Complete Home Solutions. 

We found that the attic was a major source of this homeowner's air loss. We had a solution for this. We air sealed any attic penetrations (anything causing excess leakage), sealed the recessed light fixtures (which can lose a lot of energy), weatherized the attic hatch, and installed 11" of TruSoft cellulose insulation. 

A lack of insulation and air sealing in your attic can really cause a lot of problem in your home. High utility bills and discomfort were the two that this client complained to us about. Air sealing the attic floors and walls with foam board and caulk was a major upgrade for this home. Then, to top it off, we blew in a bunch of closed cell cellulose insulation. We then were able to apply air sealing to the attic and add in new blown-in cellulose insulation. Now the attic is able to provide the homeowner with a comfortable home! 

Justin's Crawl Space in his Owings, MD home was in poor shape and was beginning to affect the comfort and health of her home. She took a great first step by calling Complete Home Solutions, Southern, Maryland's leading crawl space experts. After a throughout review from our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that a full crawl space encapsulation would solve the problems Justin was facing.  On the day of the encapsulation, our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing the old vapor barrier and insulation from the crawl space., this provided an empty area to begin the transformation. They then installed our Clean space vapor barrier which when bolted to the walls of the crawl space creates a seal that prevents any moisture or pest from entering the crawl from below. Following the installation of the vapor barrier, our Technicians used a 2 part closed cell spray foam to insulate and seal the walls. This process restricts any air from coming through the vents or cinder blocks in the crawl. The final step of this encapsulation is to install a dehumidifier that regulates the humidity to a consistent 50-55%. These improvements will not only help the temperatures on the first floor, but they will also help with air quality throughout the home as well.
