This home in Lusby, Maryland was having some serious issues retaining heat in its living areas. The homeowners were tired of wasting money trying to keep their house warm. Enter Complete Home Solutions.
We gave them an energy audit to figure out what the main issue was -- the attic. There was some BATT insulation up there, but nothing that was really keeping the air sealed off. We fixed this by doing a couple of things. First of all, we sealed any nooks or crannies with caulk and/or spray foam. Next, we used polysio foam board to air seal & insulate the walls (sealing it off with caulk). We then blew in cellulose insulation as a final touch to make this home comfortable for its homeowners.
This customer was trying to finish his basement but before doing so thought it would be a good idea to properly insulate it.
Our home comfort specialist at Complete Home Solutions provided the homeowner with many solutions to insulate this space. In the end the homeowner chose the option that we felt would be best - applying spray foam insulation to the walls. This way the new basement will be effectiviely air sealed and insulated providing years of comfort.
Sylvie called Complete Home solutions after another year of uncomfortable conditions in her Lusby, MD home. In the winter months, she struggles to keep it warm, and in the hot summer months, the upstairs is unbearable. Following a Home Energy Audit, conducted by one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the condition of the home's attic was the main culprit in the home's uncomfortable home. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam. The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes. Eric noticed an immediate difference, even in mild temperatures, and can't wait to see how his house performs in the hot and humid summer months ahead.

Rosemarie was struggling with comfort issues throughout her Lusby, MD home. She called Complete Home Solutions and had a home energy audit conducted to determine ways to address the problem. After a thorough inspection by our Home Comfort Specialist. It was determined that there were two spots of concern in the house, the attic and crawl space. Rosemarie elected to first address the crawl space condition. With open vents, an old inefficient vapor barrier, and patchy insulation, this was causing humidity issues in the summer months and giving cold air a way into the home in the winter. On the day of the installation our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing all of the old batt insulation from the floor joist above, before laying down our 20mill CleanSpace vapor barrier, which when bolted to the wall creates a seal on the ground of the crawls space, making sure moisture and critters can not make their way in from below. They then sprayed the area with our 2 part closed cell spray foam insulation to all of the exterior walls. The final step to this encapsulation was to install a dehumidifier which was set to a consistent 50-55% humidity. Rosemarie noticed an immediate difference in the floor temperature of his home and can't wait to see the difference as the weather outside begins to change.

This home in Dowell, Maryland had a routine. Every time the weather started getting chilly, the floors would start getting freezing cold, like clockwork. The homeowner couldn't figure out what the problem was, she knew that she already had insulation in her crawl space. So, she called Complete Home Solutions to get to the bottom of it.
After carefully inspecting her crawl space, we saw that she did have some insulation, but it was deteriorating, falling apart, and not protecting her home from the outside at all. We started out by removing that old insulation. We then air sealed the ceiling of the crawl space by applying 3" of closed cell foam insulation. The spray foam is effective for both air sealing and insulating the crawl. Just like that, we were able to fix this homeowner's cold floor problems.
