This homeowner from Pasadena, Maryland was experiencing high energy bills and discomfort from the finished room over their garage (which is a common issue found with spaces like this). They contacted Complete Home Solutions to see if we could help them.
We sent out our team who determined that air leakage and lack of insulation were preventing this area from becoming comfortable. Our home comfort specialist recommended that the knee-wall areas be insulated and sprayed 3" of closed cell foam insulation. This allowed the room to become a more livable area and significantly reduced the homeowner's energy bill!
This homeowner wanted to remove their old insulation and upgrade to spray foam insulation.

This homeowner has lived in this house in Owings, Maryland for a good while and has always enjoyed where they lived. The only problem that they seemed to consistently have was keeping the home warm in the wintertime. They were always faced with the dilemma of piling on blankets and raising the thermostat. This year, however, they got into contact with Complete Home Solutions.
We quickly pin pointed the problem with our Home Energy Audit. The insulation in the attic was no where near effective enough to keep the house warm. It was old and worn out and needed to be taken out, so we did that. We then air sealed any of the attic penetrations and ductwork. Last, but not least, we insulated the attic with TruSoft Cellulose. These upgrades were enough to keep the homeowner nice and toasty (and save more than a few bucks at the end of the month too!).
This couple had lived in their home in Dunkirk for over 30 years. These past few winters, they had noticed that it was increasingly harder to keep their home warm. When they realized that this winter was definitely going to be very cold compared to previous years, they went ahead and took action, calling up a nearby home comfort expert to help make their home more comfortable.
Complete Home Solutions was happy to come out and take a look for these homeowners. We found that updating their attic would make an immense difference to their home's comfort. They had some old BATT insulation that met insulation standards years ago when it was only set at R-19, which has since risen to at least R-49. We added in blown in cellulose insulation to rectify this. We also went through and air sealed many openings, gaps and penetrations that were contributing to all of that warm air sneaking out of the house. After 30 something years of living in this house, these homeowners are now more comfortable than ever!
