Attic Insulation in Odenton, MD

Our client-to-be was not looking forward to winter this year. They remembered last year when their house was freezing (especially downstairs) and their utility bills skyrocketed. This year, they were able to get in touch with Complete Home Solutions before the same thing happened again.

We were able to diagnose this home's heating problem and provide solutions to correct it. Air sealing and insulating the attic would make a drastic difference in the home's comfort. The little insulation that was in the attic before was not working very effectively (especially since there was no air sealing to accompany it). Also, the duct work that was in the attic wasn't sufficiently insulated. Before adding blown in cellulose insulation into the attic, we made sure to seal and insulate the duct work with spray foam. This client will now have a much more comfortable home to look forward to this year.

Attic Air Sealing in Odenton, MD

High utility bills and low home comfort were the two main problems that this homeowner was facing, especially in the winter and summer months. She couldn't seem to figure out why their house got this way, so she called an expert to investigate.

Our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home and did a thorough evaluation. The main issue that he found was the attic. A lack of air sealing and insulation was causing this home to lose much of its conditioned air and consequently raising the utility bill every month. Our solution to her was to air seal the attic (using a mixture of SilverGlo foam board, caulk and spray foam and then insulate with blown in cellulose. The problems that this homeowner were facing are now a thing of the past!

Nobody likes a cold or hot house - and that was certainly true for this homeowner as well. What could be done to stop their sweltering summers and chilling winters? Luckily, Complete Home Solutions had the knowledge and skill set to answer this question.

We sent out out one of our Home Comfort Specialists, who determined that air sealing and more insulation in the home's attic would be just what this house needed. We went ahead and provided those solutions for the client, using blown in cellulose for the insulation. The difference that these changes have made has been astronomical! So happy we could help this homeowner become comfortable in their home!

Attic Insulation in Odenton, MD

This Homeowner called Complete Home Solutions because the upstairs of the home experienced dramatic temperature differences in the winter and in the summer.  The attic was insulated by rolled fiberglass batt insulation which was not providing the thermal barrier to keep the hot or cold air inside the home. Often fiberglass batt insulation has large voids or gaps between the pieces allowing your insulation to lose it's effectivenes or R-value.  Not only does fiberglass insulation lose it's R-value, any insulation installed in an attic area with no air sealing becomes the world's largest air filter.  Insulation alone cannot keep your heated or cooled air inside the home.  By removing the old deteriorated insulation, air sealing the attic area and installing a warm blanket of blown cellulose insulation we were able to make this home much more COMFORTABLE.

The end result, a very Happy Homeowner that is now experiencing a more comfortable home life and a cheaper utility bill!

Attic Insulation in Odenton, MD

Nicholas called Complete Home solutions after another year of uncomfortable conditions in certain areas of his Odenton, MD home. In the winter months, he struggles to keep it warm, and in the hot summer months, the upstairs is unbearable.  Following a Home Energy Audit, conducted by one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the condition of the home's attic was the main culprit in the home's uncomfortable home. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam.  The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes. Nicholas noticed an immediate difference, even in mild temperatures, and can't wait to see how her house performs in the hot and humid summer months ahead.
