One thing that many homeowners don't take into account is just how much air your attic really leaks. It doesn't matter how small your attic is - if it isn't treated it will cause an uncomfortable home. This client had never had their attic treated and they were feeling all the typical symptoms: hot upstairs in the summer, cold floors in the winter, high utility bills, etc. We were able to come in and give the homeowner back control over their home. Air sealing and insulation are major players in doing this (in this particular picture you can see the attic hatch tent cover that we installed to block air from leaking in and out of the space). 

Customer had many issues with drafty rooms and large temperature differences throughout their house. Complete Home Solutions came out to do a complete home energy audit, to help target the customer's energy needs.

What were the customer's home energy problems?  A simple addition of attic insulation, with blown in cellulose, was all that was needed to help.  We brought the customer's insulation to BPI standards for the climate zone.  Now this homeowner can enjoy their home comfortably all year round (while paying lower utility bills)!  

This homeowner in Bowie, Maryland had issues with keeping his home comfortable throughout the year. It became especially cold and drafty during the winter time. He needed some help figuring out the best way to take care of this issue. That's when he found out about CHS.

Our home comfort specialist visited the house and found that there were a few areas that could be sealed and insulated: around the doors, windows, and in the attic. Making these improvements created a massive difference for the homeowner in terms of comfort and energy savings. 

This homeowner from Bowie had been renting her house out for a few years now. She and her tenant were on fairly good terms, both happy with each other, but the tenant did have one complaint. The house had a lot of air leakage, causing it to become very uncomfortable (especially during summer and winter). The homeowner called us to provide her with solutions on how to alleviate this problem for her tenant. 

After performing a thorough home energy audit, we found a major problem area to be the attic. Specifically, there was a lack of air sealing and insulation. There were also exposed knee walls in the attic (which allow for a significant amount of air to leak in and out of the home). We applied polysio foam board and spray foam insulation to the knee walls in order to prevent this from happening. We also sealed the attic floor with caulk and installed blown in cellulose insulation. Now, both tenant and homeowner are happy. 

Out with the old and in with the new! Don called Complete Home Solutions when his heat pump finally bit the dust. After an examination from one of our trained HVAC technicians, it was determined that the best course of action was a full system replacement. Our Install team was able to replace this old system with a brand new Ruud heat pump.
