This home in Bowie, Maryland had a big problem when it came to staying warm throughout the whole house. Luckily, the homeowner was introduced to Complete Home Solutions. 

We found the problem with this house to be one that we've seen come up quite a bit for homeowners. The attic was never properly air sealed or insulated. These two things make a huge difference. So, we made both of those changes, using our cellulose loose fill insulation. Now, this house can stay at a comfortable temperature no matter the season or what room your staying in. 

This home in Benedict, Maryland had ridiculously high utility bills all throughout winter. In the summer, it wasn't quite as bad, but the upstairs was sweltering hot. The homeowner needed someone to come out to her house and give her solutions on how to fix the situation. 

Complete Home Solutions came out and gave her an energy audit. Her attic turned out to be a huge problem. To fix this we did a lot of air sealing, particularly over the knee wall that was up there (we installed polysio foam board here). We also blew in closed cell cellulose insulation. Along with a few other installations, this was the perfect cure for this homeowner's problems. 

This homeowner put a lot of time and effort into creating the perfect home for herself. Visually, it's astounding, but she wanted it to be just as comfortable to live in too. We came out to give her some solutions on how to do just that.

We found that treating the attic would make a tremendous difference in creating a controlled environment for this home. Air sealing and cellulose insulation stop air from freely flowing in and out of the living space (via the attic). Now this homeowner can fully enjoy her home (both inside and outside) all the while saving money on her electric bills. 

Aleks noticed a continued spike in his energy bill and could seem to figure out the cause. He called energy experts at Complete Home Solutions to have a Home Energy Audit conducted on his home. After a full Home Energy Audit was completed by one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the insulation levels in Aleks's house could also be improved to help with comfort and efficiency. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam.  The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes.
