Attic Insulation in New Carrollton, MD

This homeowner in New Carrollton, MD wanted to make their home more affordable by reducing utility bills.  Our auditor determined that the attic insulation was insufficient and causing cold drafts and air leaks throughout the home. Our crews upgraded the attic insulation and air sealed the attic to reduce the leaks to make the home more comfortable and efficient.

Attic Insulation in New Carrollton, MD

This homeowner in New Carrollton, Maryland hated how her bedroom always had a cold draft that crept in. In the wintertime, it became almost unbearable. She called up Complete Home Solutions to see if we could help.

Lucky for this homeowner, we happen to be professionals when it comes to these types of situations. In the attic, we removed all of the old insulation that wasn't doing any good, did a bunch of air sealing, and installed our blown in cellulose insulation. That bedroom won't be a problem for this homeowner anymore.

Attic Insulation in New Carrollton, MD

Juan's home in New Carrollton, MD was very uncomfortable throughout the second floor. He knew the insulation was leading to the problem, however, she was hesitant to address the problem due to losing her valuable storage space. After another unbearable summer, Juan had had enough and called Complete Home Solutions. After a full home examination from one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the condition of the home's attic insulation was a leading culprit in the home's uncomfortable upstairs temperatures.  While comfort was a priority, Stephen did not want to lose the valuable storage space his attic currently had, luckily for Juan, we had a solution. On the day our crew began work on the attic they began by pulling back the existing insulation to ensure the area was properly air sealed. Air sealing ensures that there are no seams or cracks around top plates, recessed lights, or outlets that could allow conditioned air to rise and escape from the living area of your home. The next step was building an attic hatch damn at the entrance to the attic. This process allows our crew to blow insulation as close to your attic hatch as possible while also making the entryway clean if you have to get into your attic. The final step is to add a new blanket of Cellulose insulation to the attic to ensure 16 inches of insulation all the way around the attic.

Juan can't wait to see how these improvements help the efficiency and comfort in his home this winter.

New Attic Insulation in Hyattsville, MD

This homeowner in Hyattsville, Maryland seemed to spend every winter exasperating themselves trying to stay warm. They decided that they had had enough this winter! They got into contact with Complete Home Solutions.

The first step we took was to perform a Home Energy Audit and figure out what we were dealing with. We found that the attic was a major part of the problem. There was an absolute minimum amount of insulation and no air sealing. All that hot air that the homeowner was trying to fill the house with was slipping right up and out through the attic! After explaining this to them, they had us seal up the attic hatch, air seal the rim joists and any attic penetrations, and install TruSoft Cellulose insulation to fix the problem. The homeowner has already noticed a difference in their comfort levels and is no longer dreading the long winter!

Open Crawl Space Insulated in Cheverly, MD

This homeowner was a return client that we had done some work for before. The last time they contacted us, we gave our Home Energy Audit and recommended that they get their attic and open crawl space weatherized. They wanted to start off by just doing their attic and seeing how well that would work for them. They found that they loved the results so much they wanted us to come back and do the crawl space.

We took out that damaged insulation that was falling apart. That allowed us to air seal the area, mainly using that orange caulk that you see there in the picture. We then added in fiberglass batt insulation and installed polysio foam board under the new insulation (that's the silver board that you see at the top of the picture). This has made it so that the floors between the crawl space ceiling and the living area are no longer cold. They now have an even more comfortable home!
