He found that while she was making those other energy efficiency upgrades she had neglected to treat one of the most important areas in her house...the attic! The attic's air sealing and insulation  levels (which is now recommended to reach at least R-49) had never been upgraded. This home in Columbia, Maryland suffered from cold drafts this winter and called Complete Home Solutions to find the source of the uncomfortable temperatures. Our Auditor went to the home to investigate the source of the drafts. The Auditor determined that the source of the cold temperatures was insufficient insulation in the attic area.
