SuperSump Upgrade Protects Bath, ME Basement from Flooding

With a black mold growing in their basement and regular flooding after rainfall, this Bath, ME homeowner was looking for a solution! They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and following their free estimate from our sales representative, they hired us to get started on upgrading their failing sump as soon as possible. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This trench opened enough space to lay WaterGuard piping down around the basement. After sealing these pipes in place with a fresh layer of concrete, they will act to intercept any moisture leaking through the foundation in the future. This collected water is guided through the WaterGuard to the SuperSump pump installed where the old pump had been. The SuperSump system is able to remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the home every hour. This water flow out of the home through a PVC discharge line protected by an IceGuard segment just outside the home. The IceGuard is built in a way that provides any water blocked by ice or debris a way to escape the line without backing up into the basement.

With an upgraded sump pump, this homeowner should no longer experience a flooding basement after any rainfall. Their new WaterGuard system will maintain a dry basement floor for years to come!

Home In Arrowsic Gets The Help It Needs

This crawlspace in Arrowsic Maine needed some love so the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done. Utilizing CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, SprayFoam and a SmartSump, this crawl space will now be protected. Wet Dirt Floor Crawl Space with Freezing Pipes Transformed

This crawl space in Bath, ME, was giving the homeowner a laundry list of issues that were causing them to spend money on costly repairs. Concerned about the water in their crawl space and pipes freezing during the winter months, this homeowner decided to take action and book a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nick Ciciarelli worked with the homeowner to design a complete encapsulation system that would take care of the dirt floor, drafty walls, and the water coming into their basement.

The area was regraded, and Drainage Matting was laid on the ground to create an inorganic barrier between the dirt and the new Slab that needed to be poured. Before the new Slab could be poured, WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter to catch and channel water to the brand new TripleSafe Sump Pump with Battery Backup. The water has to go somewhere, so the TripleSafe is connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard installed. With the crawl space waterproofed, the new Slab was able to be poured, and SprayFoam was installed along the rim joists and walls where needed to insulate the crawl space and protect the pipes underneath the home from freezing. The last step in setting up this crawl space for success was the installation of a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier that drains directly to the TripleSafe so the homeowner never has to empty a bucket and the crawl space stays at a safe humidity level all the time.

Now the homeowner is happy knowing their crawl space is no longer a nightmare and their home and family will be safer and healthier.

Damp Gardiner, ME Basement Protected with WaterGuard & CleanSpace Installation

Living with a damp and grimy basement, this Gardiner, ME homeowner thought it was time they had something done about it. They contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to receive a free estimate and gave us the green light to begin work on their basement as soon as possible. As soon as our crew arrived, they got started by excavating the old basement floor to replace it with a properly waterproofed concrete slab. While pouring the new slab, a Drainage Matting, WaterGuard piping and a SuperSump pump were all installed within. The Drainage Matting creates a layer below the slab to channel moisture toward the outer edge of the foundation. Surrounding the basement, hidden just below the surface of the floor is the WaterGuard piping. These pipes will capture any leaking water and guide it directly to the SuperSump to be pumped from the home before reaching the surface. Finally, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the basement walls. This liner will not only brighten up the basement for future use, but it will also block any moisture leaking in from the walls and direct it down into the WaterGuard for efficient water-removal.

With these waterproofing measures now installed below their home, this homeowner now has a dry, healthy basement to use how they see fit. The WaterGuard & CleanSpace installations will maintain a water-free environment in this basement for years to come!

Wiscasset, ME Basement Protected from Leaking Moisture with WaterGuard Installation

After many years of having a dry basement with no problems, this homeowner suddenly found themselves with two to four inches of water on their basement floor after some heavy rainfall. They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got to work right away to keep this basement safe from flooding in the future. As soon as our crew arrived at the home, their first objective was to excavate a trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This allowed for our WaterGuard piping system and a new SuperSump sump pump to be installed in the floor of the basement. Once covered by a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard piping will capture any leaking moisture in the future and guide it to the SuperSump before it has the chance to accumulate on the surface of the floor. The water will then exit the basement through the discharge line coming from the sump. This line, protected by an IceGuard pipe segment, will carry the water a distance from the home before depositing it onto the ground.

With a properly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can expect their basement to once again remain dry for many years into the future. The WaterGuard piping will now protect this basement from any heavy rainstorms that might have caused problems for the homeowner.
