This resident of Northport, NY was having some comfort issues. They were experiencing cold floors and cold rooms above their crawl space. It was determined that this crawl space wasn’t properly sealed and insulated. A lot of the outside air was leaking in and causing these comfort issues. Triple H went in and installed a Crawl Space Encapsulation system with a vapor barrier. SilverGlo Insulation with reflective radiant barrier was installed on all the walls of the crawl space. This increases the R-value in the crawl space by 24%. Now there should be much lower humidity, warmer floors, and less drafts.
We encapsulated this duct system with 1" of closed-cell insulation to prevent any air leaks. Now when your heat or cooling system heats/cools the air, that heating/cooling is delivered to your rooms without loss along the way!
A homeowner from Northport, NY contacted Triple H stating they had an estimate in the past, and would like a second opinion. Our home comfort consultant Bill performed a free evaluation of the home. Upon completion Bill provided solutions for the homeowner. Triple H air sealed and insulated the attic floor with 10" of TruSoft cellulose. They then installed a 2' x 2' catwalk inside of the attic in order for maintenance on mechanical systems. The homeowner will now be comfortable in their home, and it will be more energy efficient.
Cape style homes are often uncomfortable. A customer in West Babylon, NY fell victim to this house design and was freezing. Our representative Ryan went and evaluated the situation. The knee wall of the home had old fiberglass on the knee wall itself and no insulation on the floor. There was also no air sealing. Triple H Insulation air sealed all open penetrations, installed SilverGlo on the Knee wall and denspacked the roof. Cellulose insulation was added to the attic floor. al well. The home is now much more comfortable.
This customer in East Northport had concerns about their house being too cold. After having Triple H complete a free energy assessment it was determined that the home could benefit from new insulation in the attic. For this attic, Triple H Air Sealed the attic floor and blew in Cellulose insulation. Air sealing is always recommended when putting in new insulation because it seals up all the air leaks in the home before putting the new insulation in. Now that the attic is tightly sealed and has proper insulation the home will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This customer will also see a reduction in their utility bill as well.
