A homeowner in Middletown Township, NJ needed our help to properly insulate their unfinished basement. With an unfinished basement the owner was having difficulties keeping their basement comfortable. Also the homeowner was experiencing cold floors above the basement which made the house feel even more uncomfortable.
We removed the fiberglass insulation and installed our patented “Basement to Beautiful Panels” to the basement walls. Our Basement to Beautiful Panels is made from our exclusive SilverGlo foam insulation panels. The foam is infused with graphite for a 24% increased insulation value over standard EPS foam. Metal studs are built into the panels, but the studs do not go through the foam to the cold side, so there is no thermal bridging. Electric chases in the panels allow an electrician to wire outlets, switches, etc at any time in the future.
Our team also used spray foam on the basement rim joists to block any unwanted air from leaking into the basement. We used a wall cap molding or we spray foamed the open tops of the block walls or concrete walls. Once the Basement Beautiful Panels are installed the owner can now finish the basement by installing sheetrock over the Basement Beautiful Panels. The after picture shows the project still in progress.
This customer now has a finished basement that is properly insulated, comfortable, and we solved the cold floors above the basement.
In Middletown Township, NJ, a homeowner dealt with discomfort due to a poorly insulated crawl space, resulting in cold floors and drafty rooms. To address this, our team first applied spray foam to the rim joists, effectively reducing the cold floors. Next, we added SilverGlo insulation panels to the exterior foundation walls for a protective barrier against outside temperatures. Additionally, we installed TerraBlock foam insulation on the floor, topped with a durable 20 mil thick CleanSpace Encapsulation Liner. These improvements resulted in a significantly more comfortable and energy-efficient home environment.
The homeowner in Middletown Township, NJ, faced discomfort due to inadequate attic insulation, resulting in chilly winters and sweltering summers. Upon investigation, we discovered not only insufficient insulation but also poor air sealing in the attic. To address this, we removed the ineffective fiberglass insulation and applied ZypFoam sealant for proper air sealing. Additionally, we installed wooden retaining walls to ensure the blown-in TruSoft cellulose insulation achieved an R-value of R-60. With these improvements, the attic is now adequately insulated, significantly enhancing the comfort and energy efficiency of the home.
In Brick, NJ, a homeowner was struggling with discomfort in their home and sought a solution to improve both comfort and attic storage. They wanted a clean, organized attic space free from dust and the risk of deterioration for stored items. Our solution was to install a SuperDeck system, which provides both proper insulation and functional storage. We began by adding 4 inches of SilverGlo insulation boards to the attic floor and sealing the space to maximize energy efficiency. Next, we installed wooden decking over the SilverGlo, creating a durable, insulated storage platform. To further enhance the home's efficiency, we sealed the ducts and applied TruSoft cellulose insulation in non-decked areas. The result is a more comfortable, energy-efficient home with a properly insulated and practical attic storage solution.
Leaky, uninsulated ducts in a Brick, NJ attic were causing year-round discomfort and driving up energy bills. The leaks allowed conditioned air to escape through the supply ducts and pulled dirty attic air into the return ducts, reducing indoor air quality. Poorly insulated ducts were causing conditioned air to lose its temperature due to seasonal fluctuations in the attic. To fix these issues, we sealed the ducts with mastic tape, insulated them with SilverGlo foam boards secured with ZypFoam sealant, and air-sealed the attic floor. Finally, we added the optimal R-60 value of insulation for improved comfort and energy efficiency throughout the home.
