This home in Deale, Maryland was suffering from cold drafts in the house and called Complete Home Solutions to find the source of the issue. Our Auditor determined that the attic wasn't properly insulated and was the source of the uncomfortable temperatures.

Our Production Team applied cellulose insulation to the attic to insulate the space and keep the home at a more comfortable temperature and save energy.

Layne T. has this beautiful home in Deal, Maryland that she is in love with. The only problem that she had with it was that her rooms were consistently drafty and couldn’t keep her warm during the cold seasons. That’s why, this Fall season, she decided to call up Complete Home Solutions. 

We came out and performed one of our Home Energy Audits to diagnose some of Layne’s problem areas. We found that the majority of the problems stemmed from the crawl space. So we went ahead and removed the old insulation that was no longer effective and made a few installations, including a Smart Sump Crawl Space Drainage system and Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation that we sprayed on the walls/rim joists in the space. Ultimately, Layne was extremely happy with the end results and was able to feel comfortable in her own home.

This homeowner in Deale, Maryland had a very serious problem..their crawl space. The lining was old and damaged, the insulation was falling out of the ceiling, and there were air leaks everywhere. This means that he was losing energy, and more importantly money, trying to keep his house warm. Air from the outside was able to freely move into his house from the crawl space area. We gave the homeowner a Home Energy Audit to let him know what we could do to upgrade his crawl space. We ended up taking out all the old insulation, sealing up the vents and penetrations into the crawl space, and performing our CleanSpace Encapsulation. This made a huge difference! The homeowner didn't have to fight to keep his house warm anymore (and the air that the family was breathing in was much cleaner and healthier).

This homeowner had a very nasty crawl space living under his house. Nasty crawl spaces can lead to a number of problems. In the wintertime, cold air swoops in and up into your living area, bringing all of that dirty bacteria and VOCs with it. In the summertime, humidity builds up under there and seeps into the house (potentially leading to mold, structural problems, etc). We can fix this by sealing off the crawl space. We do this by installing a vapor barrier across the floor and applying spray foam insulation all along the walls and any openings. This client now has a cleaner, healthier home.

Jim called Complete Home Solutions to address the humidity and comfort issues in his one-story Deale, MD home. Along with a full crawl space encapsulation, our Home Comfort Specialist also recommended applying our 2 part closed cell spray foam to the exposed floor joist underneath an addition to the home. Applying this spray foam will create a solid barrier that will restrict air from making its way into the home through any seams or cracks in the wood or allowing external temperatures to affect the floor above directly. On installation day our Home Comfort Technicians removed all of the old insulation that had been damaged due to humidity issues before applying the new spray foam. Jim noticed an immediate difference in the temperature of his floors and cant wait to see the difference it will make in the humid summer months.
