This homeowner in Columbia, MD had noticed more and more that the bottom level of their home was more challenging to keep comfortable. Following a call to Complete Home Solutions our Home Comfort Specialist discovered there was older batt Insulation above their drop ceiling with no form of insulation in the rim joist along the exterior walls. The recommendation to fix this problem was to pull back the batt insulation in the ceiling and apply spray foam in the rim joist along all the exterior walls creating a solid barrier which restricts the outside air from making its way inside, and on the day of the job our Home Comfort Technicians took care of the rest. This process allowed the homeowner to regulate the temperature in the lower level of their home much easier, creating a comfortable conditioned space.
Dan and Kris had an older home in Annapolis, MD that was becoming most costly to keep comfortable with each passing year. After searching the internet and reading reviews, they made the right choice by calling Complete Home Solutions to evaluate the problem. Following a full energy audit of the home by one of our Home Comfort Technicians, it was determined that the condition of the home's attic was a culprit. On the day our crew began work on the attic they began by pulling back the existing insulation to ensure the area was properly air sealed. Air sealing ensures that there are no seams or cracks around top plates, recessed lights, or outlets that could allow conditioned air to rise and escape from the living area of your home. The next step was building an attic hatch damn at the entrance to the attic. This process allows our crew to blow insulation as close to your attic hatch as possible while also making the entryway clean if you have to get into your attic. The final step is to add a new blanket of Cellulose insulation to the attic to ensure 16 inches of insulation all the way around the attic.
These improvements to the attic will help the efficiency of her home helping his HVAC system run less frequently, and also help with comfort throughout the home by keeping the conditioned air in the living space of the home and creating a proper barrier between the living space and attic temperatures.

This is a one of our repeat customer. This homeowner had really enjoyed the work Complete Home Solutions did in his attic to stop air leakages and stop high energy bills. Since then he releazied his crawl space was something else he was interested in getting done to ensure maximum comfort and lower energy bills for his home.
You can see how in the "before" picture, there is absouletly nothing in the crawl space except for dirt on the floor. We decided to go ahead and put down (IDK) to make sure there are no more air leakages from the crawl space.
The crawl space plays a very important role in the comfort of your home. This is where cold air seeps into your house from, bringing along with it all of the unhealthy air that has been accumulating down there. As you can imagine, if it's left untreated, there can be a lot of potential consequences to your health as well as to your house. This homeowner knew that he couldn't take on the task of treating his crawl space on his own, so he hired an expert to do it for him.
Our home comfort specialist (as well as our crew) was eager to help this homeowner. Treating this crawl space mainly involved applying caulk, foam board, and spray foam for air sealing and installing a vapor barrier. All of this was done to create a healthier and more comfortable home - mission accomplished!
This homeowner had a crawl space underneath his house that was very poorly treated. What did this mean for him? Cold rooms, higher electric bills, and poor indoor air quality. He called out our home comfort specialist to provide some solutions on how to help with this situation.
Based on our home visit, we determined that the most effective way to treat this crawl space was to install a vapor barrier and air seal the walls with closed cell spray foam. These measures would stop undesirable air from leaking into the living area (which is what was ultimately causing those issues listed before). This homeowner can now enjoy healthy, happy, and comfortable living in their home.
