After hearing about the BGE Home Energy Audit program, Rebecca called Complete Home Solutions to give her home a full evaluation. After looking over the whole house including several key systems, our Home Comfort Specialist recommended air sealing the attic and making sure the insulation was up to code. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam. The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes. Rebecca noticed an immediate difference, even in mild temperatures, and can't wait to see how her house performs in the future.

The owner of this home in Glen Burnie, MD was suffering from uncomfortable temperatures and called our Auditor to determine the source. Our Auditor established that the cause of the temperatures was due to insufficient insulation in the attic space.
To solve this our Production Team set out to provide blow in cellulose to prevent further leaking and improve the overall comfort of the home. Call Complete Home Solutions so you can #RuleYourAttic today
This customer had some serious problem with their house...there were air leaks everywhere. Areas like the ones you see in this picture are a huge issue. They allow for massive amounts of air to leak in and out (a huge waste of energy and money). We took care of areas like this with polysio foam board and caulk. These improvements made a huge difference and created a much more comfortable and healthy home!
This client had a completely barren attic, which -- in case you didn't know -- is not a good thing. An attic like this that has no air sealing, no insulation, and nothing blocking air from leaking in and out will cause major discomfort within the home (not to mention high electric bills). However, this is also the perfect arena for us to show off our awesome home performance skills. We used foam board and caulk to seal up the knee wall area (pictured in the right of both pictures), sealed up those floor boards, and installed our blown-in cellulose insulation. Now, our client can experience a comfortable, healthy home!
Cold, unhealthy air typically infiltrates your house from the bottom (whether that be through a crawl space or a basement). In this case, our client was experiencing an extremely cold draft from their basement area. Spots like the one featured in this picture is where a lot of that outdoor air is creeping in from. We were able to fix this area by applying spray foam (which air seals and insulates at the same time). Techniques like this allow us to create a comfortable and healthy home for our clients.
