This homeowner in Brandywine, Maryland was referred to us by a previous, satisfied customer. Once they heard about all of the great things that we did for their friend, they decided that their home could use a little help too (like fixing their cold floors and drafty rooms).
We went down into the crawl space and found a lot of problems that we could fix. We ripped out the old insulation that was practically falling out of the ceiling (it was no longer any good). We air sealed the crawl walls with spray foam, installed an airtight door, and installed a vapor barrier throughout the crawl space. These upgrades have now created a comfortable, healthy home!
Scott's home in Brandywine, MD had a crawl space that was in rough shape. This was leading to comfort problems throughout the year as well as moisture-related issues from the humidity in the summer months. Scott's first choice was the right choice when he called Complete Home Solutions to address the problem. after a full evaluation of the home, our Home Comfort Specialist recommended a Crawl Space Encapsulation. On the day of the encapsulation, our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing the old vapor barrier and insulation from the crawl space., this provided an empty area to begin the transformation. They then installed our Clean space vapor barrier which when bolted to the walls of the crawl space creates a seal that prevents any moisture or pest from entering the crawl from below. Following the installation of the vapor barrier, our Technicians used a 2 part closed cell spray foam to insulate and seal the walls. This process restricts any air from coming through the vents or cinder blocks in the crawl. The final step of this encapsulation is to install a dehumidifier that regulates the humidity to a consistent 50-55%.. Scott has all ready noticed a difference in mild weather and can't wait to see how the improvements help this winter.

Insufficient attic insulation caused outside air to seep inside this home allowing air conditioning and heated air to escape to the outside. Air sealing the attic and removal of the ineffective insulation and replacing it with blown-in cellulose insulation prevents air from flowing in and out of the home. This home is now more energy efficient and saving this homeowner money on their heating and air conditioning bill. Check out this before & after attic insulation in Severn, MD!
