Josh then laid a CleanSpace liner across the floor of the space, keeping out moisture and providing a much more appealing surface for the homeowner.

This homeowner living in Strong, ME had been experiencing a musty smell propagating their home from their damp crawlspace. Without any form of waterproofing, the crawlspace was open to the elements. Looking for ways to remedy this issue, they contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we set them up with a free estimate. In order to keep outside moisture from building up in the crawlspace in the future, a vapor barrier would be needed. This began with Drainage Matting being laid across the dirt floor of the crawlspace. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the space, sealing it off from the outside moisture. Now when water leaks in through the earth, the CleanSpace liner will block its entry into the crawlspace while the Drainage Matting provides channels for the water to travel toward where it can most easily escape back into the ground.

With a proper vapor barrier to hold back moisture, this homeowner should notice their moisture problem dissipate very soon. The CleanSpace liner will keep this crawlspace interior water-free for years to come!

Ground water was an issue for this crawl space, so a TripleCrawl Sump Pump system was installed to handle the water and pump it out of the home through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the home and is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. Mold has been an issue, so taking care of the moisture problem in the crawl space was the next step. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to encapsulate the area and keep moisture out. Drainage Matting is constructed with a dimpled design that channels water to the TripleCrawl and elevates the CleanSpace to keep it clean and protect it. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that was attached to the walls, sealing the area and brightening the space, making it perfect for storage. SmartDrain and Perforated Pipe were installed to channel water to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump. To finish encapsulating the crawl space and protect the home, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona is connected to a Condensate Pump and drains to the TripleCrawl so the homeowner never has to be worried about emptying a bucket of water, and the system will continue to run without needing to be supervised or checked up on.

The homeowner is now able to regain control over their home and can live in the space without the concern of the mold or moisture effecting the health of their family.
