This Corinna, ME homeowner had a crawlspace below their home without any form of moisture protection. This led to them experiencing a musty smell coming from the space as the dampness worsened over time. Wanting something done about this, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got right to work! To begin the process of properly waterproofing the space below this home, the dirt floor of the crawlspace was graded until it was flat. Next, to provide a moisture barrier a Drainage matting was laid across the floor and a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This formed a water-tight seal to prevent future moisture from leaking into and persisting within the crawlspace. A TripleSafe sump pump was then installed in the floor of the space. This pump will remove any moisture collected beneath the home and force it out of the home through a discharge line fitted with an IceGuard protective pipe. This pipe then terminates through a LawnScape port where the water can harmlessly drain back into the ground a distance from the home.
With their now-waterproof crawlspace, this homeowner should no longer suffer from a musty smell in their home caused by excess moisture. Any water gathering below the home will be swiftly pumped outside where it will stay!
After consulting a contractor, this homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to have their musty crawlspace protected by a vapor barrier installation. When our crew arrived at the Glenburn, ME home, they got started by laying a Drainage Matting across the leveled floor of the crawlspace. Next, the support piers received Pier Wrapping and the entire space was encapsulated by a CleanSpace liner. This covered the crawlspace with a water-tight seal that would prevent future moisture build up in the atmosphere below this home. Finally, gaps in the joists above the crawlspace were filled in Spray Foam insulation, to allow the homeowner more efficiency when heating or cooling their home.
With these new installations put in below their home, this homeowner will no longer suffer from musty air emanating from their crawlspace. The CleanSpace liner will ensure this crawlspace remains moisture-free for years down the road.
With a dirt-floor crawlspace below their home, this Winter Harbor, ME homeowner had been experiencing moisture leaking through their floor into their home. To put an end to this leakage, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got to work providing a proper barrier to keep the moisture at bay. A moisture barrier consisting of a Drainage Matting covered by a CleanSpace liner encapsulation was installed in the crawlspace to prevent outside water from entering the interior of the space. Next, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier and Condensate Pump were put in place atop the new barrier to collect and remove any moisture lingering in the atmosphere of the crawlspace.
With the new CleanSpace barrier and SaniDry installed properly, this crawlspace and home will remain dry and healthy for years to come!
Looking to keep moisture from the ground out of the crawlspace below their home, this homeowner living in Winter Harbor, ME contacted our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems. Once they received their free estimate, they were ready to have us get started on the job right away. To keep out any and all moisture, a vapor barrier needed to be put in place below this home. This began with a Drainage Matting laid across the floors surface followed by a CleanSpace liner encapsulation. These layers form a water-tight barrier to keep out moisture entering through the earth under the home, protecting the home from long-term damage caused by accumulating water.
With a proper vapor barrier protecting their crawlspace, this homeowner can rest assured no water-problems will take root below their home in the future. The CleanSpace liner will keep out any moisture that might have otherwise gathered in the crawlspace from rainfall or melting snow.
This Eastport, ME, homeowner was worried that their damp and musty crawl space would eventually lead to health issues if the problem wasn’t solved. With no plan of moving or selling the home, the homeowner also wanted to address the problem of the floors above the crawl space being cold in the winter months. The homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help, and System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein met with the homeowner for a free estimate.
Craig worked with the homeowner to design a crawl space encapsulation system that would surpass the expectations of the homeowner and protect the health of the home and their family. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down and attached to the walls to encapsulate the space, creating an inorganic barrier to protect from moisture and outside elements. A SmartSump was installed to pump groundwater out of the space and through an Exterior Buried Discharge Line. A SmartJack was installed to provide additional support to the floor above, and to finish the system, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to keep humidity at a safe level. Having to regularly empty out a dehumidifier bucket can be annoying, so to prevent the homeowner from having to check often, the SaniDry Sedona is connected to the SmartSump, ensuring all water is pumped out of the crawl space and no bucket ever has to be emptied.
The crawl space is now fully encapsulated, and the homeowner can live and enjoy their home without the concern of a damp and musty crawl space affecting the health of their family and home.
