When radiant sun energy strikes a roof, it heat the shingles, felt paper and roof decking by conduction, it causes the underside of the decking and the roof framing to radiate heat downward through the attic toward the attic floor. When a radiant barrier is in place most of the heat radiated from the hot roof is reflected back toward the roof and this reduces the amount of heat that moves into the rooms below.
This Conway, SC homeowner had a beautiful living room - but no one could see it! The room lacked in the lighting department. They called Carolina Energy Conservation to help restore the electrical in their living space.
We installed two 14-inch ISn Solatube lights in the ceiling to brighten the room. The finish is "Just Frost," giving the room a clean and contemporary finish.

Bringing the beautiful natural light into this Conway home.
This Conway Homeowner called Carolina Energy Conservation looking for a natural light solution for her kitchen that is low maintenance. Previously she used six can lights in her kitchen, but really wanted an energy efficient option. The 14in Solatube Daylight System was the perfect solution. The Solatube Daylighting System features passive daylighting technology that does not rely on moving parts, making it virtually maintenance-free. All assemblies (dome, flashing, tubing, diffuser) have seals to prevent bug and dirt infiltration. In addition, the dome and flashing are designed to eliminate debris build-up. Unlike traditional skylights, that need periodic cleaning and inspection, the Solatube Daylighting System does not require ongoing maintenance.
This home improvement project, also, only took 2 hours installation and did not require moving her can lighting! One happy Homeowner in Conway!
Sue had spent the last year remodeling her kitchen and her final step was to increase light over her stove. She had seen a Solatube Daylight System at a neighbor's and knew this was the perfect addition for her home. The Solatube has a solar powered nightlight that makes the home addition qualify for a Federal Solar rebate. Sue found Carolina Energy Conservation through a Google search, scheduled within two weeks and had her newly lit kitchen within two hours of CEC Installer Kevin P.'s arrival! Now Sue is happily inviting the neighbors over to see her remodel... making referrals for Carolina Energy Conservation and Solatube.
