This owner worked with us to solve two issues: mold and cold floors. She didn’t know there was mold growing, but she did know the air quality inside her home was not good as it smelled weird.
About 50% of the air she was breathing in her home (it’s a one-story house) was coming from the moldy crawl space!
Our insulation crew started by dealing with the crawl space mold: Mold-X was applied to neutralize the mold and discourage it from re-growing. They then applied three inches of closed-cell spray foam to the underfloor. The spray foam seals cracks and crevices so the air cannot flow into the house and make the floors cold. It also surpasses fiberglass batts—critters like to nest in fiberglass, but cannot in spray foam.
She tells us her home does not smell anymore!
The couple in this SW Portland, OR home has lived there a few years and experiencing cold floors in the winter. They chose our company to encapsulate the crawl space with the drainage matting and our heaviest 20-mil liner on top. Foundation walls were sealed with spray foam. They also chose to install the SmartSump sump pump system and the SaniDry dehumidifier under the house.
This encapsulation system has made their floors warmer in the winter!
This West Linn, OR homeowner wanted her ductwork to be less leaky to help increase the efficiency of her home’s heating system. Spry foam is the best solution, as it seals leaks (ductwork likes to be leaky) and is a longer-term and more effective solution rather than wrapping them with fiberglass.
The homeowner knew about issues under his house in the crawl space and contacted us for an estimate. One main concern was the ductwork that was leaking and didn’t have tight insulation covering it (see BEFORE photo).
The best solution here to re-insulate the underfloor plus seal and insulate the ductwork is closed-cell spray foam! Our insulation installation crew started with removal of the old insulation. The crew then sprayed the underfloor and the ductwork with closed-cell spray foam (see AFTER photo).
This longer-term, more permanent solution instead of fiberglass will make this home more energy efficient plus animals do not use spray foam for nesting as they like to do with fiberglass.
This homeowner in Lake Oswego knew there was mold growing under her home, and it was making them sick. This before photo shows the mold growing under her home. She wanted a permanent solution so they could enjoy their home; she chose to have us encapsulate the crawl space. With the SaniDry CX crawl space air system, the Smart Sump sump pump, and the encapsulation of her crawl space (see after photo), the mold does not have the environment it likes to grow.
