This homeowner from Mastic Beach had a free home energy assessment due to some concerns about her attic insulation. Triple H air sealed all penetrations on the attic floor before blowing in Cellulose insulation. To make sure the attic is as air tight as possible an attic tent was also installed. This customer contacted Triple H Contracting and wanted an estimate for roof insulation for his vented attic space. Vented attics that aren’t properly insulated are hostile places, easily reaching 30 degrees in winter and 125 degrees in the summer. After the home comfort specialist performed an evaluation it was noticed that there was no insulation. It was recommended to use Foamax Panels. Triple H went in and installed the Foamax Polyisocyanurate foam insulation boards on the underside of the roof deck. The superior R-value and foil face on the outside reflects heat out in summer. With the Foamax installed the customer should experience a less drafter home that stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
