Nicholas Woods II led a team in the installation of this project. Together, the team removed the old, ineffective batting insulation. After doing so, SprayFoam insulation was used to air seal any holes and cracks in the attic, and to create a moisture resistant barrier for the space. Finally, TruSoft™ cellulose insulation was blown into the attic for a final layer of insulation that is eco-friendly and fire resistant.

The owner of this cabin in Sturgeon Lake, MN was experiencing issues with moisture in their crawl space. This can cause unsafe living conditions because it promotes mold grows and negatively affects the air in the home. The cabin owner reached out to DBS after seeing an ad for DBS on a local television station.

Design Specialist Austin Burley went to the cabin to conduct a free no-obligation estimate and after a thorough inspection, he educated the owners on Crawl Space Encapsulation services offered by DBS. 

Foreman Tyler Nacey led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they first installed dimpled drainage matting to help water flow underneath the encapsulation products. Next, they covered the matting with panels of TerraBlock™ crawl space encapsulation to prevent frost build-up. Then they sealed the crawl space by installing a CleanSpace® water vapor barrier.

Now that the crawl space has been properly encapsulated, the air will be safer to breathe, and the cabin will remain in the family for years to come.
