Design Specialist Austin Burley visited the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owners. After a thorough inspection, Austin recommended the 3-layer Crawl Space Encapsulation service offered by DBS.
Foreman Nick Woods led the installation of this project with the help of a crew. First, a layer of dimpled drainage matting was laid down to aid the flow of water. A layer of TerraBlock™ insulation was installed over the matting to block cold air from leaking up into the crawl space from the ground. The previous two layers were sealed with a layer of CleanSpace® to complete the encapsulation process and waterproof the space. The vertical walls in the crawl space were covered with SilverGlo™ rigid foam insulation to prevent frost build-up. Finally, they air-sealed the remaining leak points in the crawl space with ZypFoam™ to prevent air from escaping to the first level as well as air entering from outside.
Now that the installation of the 3-layer crawl space encapsulation system is complete, the owners will experience warmer floors and lower energy bills without ever needing to replace any doors or windows!
