This Plymouth, MN homeowner wanted to capitalize on the square footage in the basement. Their dream was to have another living room, a home gym, and office space. Having worked with DBS in the past to correct a bowing wall and install a waterproofing system, they wanted to finish their basement with the DBS water-resistant system.

DBS Design Specialist Jason Swanson visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate and came up with a custom plan that would incorporate this homeowner's wishlist.  DBS Carpenter Donny Whiting lead the install on this basement finishing project. The team also installed EverLast™ wall panels - the insulated version lined the outside walls and uninsulated for the inner walls. These wall panels are hung via a metal framing system, making them incredibly durable and stronger than drywall.

They installed our ultra-durable, scratch-resistant MillCreek™ flooring throughout the basement. This mahogany color is UV-resistant and provides a thermal break from the cold basement floor.

This owner was happy with the work done and now has a healthy, safe, and comfortable basement to use for years to come. 

This family in South Minneapolis needed a solution to the flooring in their basement. They were looking for a durable, water and scratch resistant surface that would work for dance rehearsal for one of their children. After working with DBS to address some of the foundation issues a year prior, they called DBS to inquire about our basement finishing service.

He visited the home and provided a free inspection and estimate for the work. The homeowners wanted the carpet gone and wood floor over the entire space. 

Lead Carpenter Paul Villella and a team of our basement finishing crew began the project by removing the basement carpeting. Beneath the carpeting were some asbestos tiles. Safe removal of asbestos is a complicated process because disturbing the material is hazardous to workers and homeowners health. The other option is to leave the tiles undisturbed and safely cover them. The homeowners decided to go with this route and chose our MillCreek Flooring™. It is available in several natural colors, including the Natural Oak installed here.

A homeowner in Golden Valley, MN was looking to have their basement walls refinished, and reached out to DBS for suggestions. The basement contained a traditional drywall finish, which is less resistant to mold and other damages than what DBS has to offer. Our Design Specialist suggested we install EverLast™ Wall Restoration. This product is a finished wall addition that is made of up mold, moisture, and mildew-resistant material with a transferable warranty. A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN was looking to revamp their basement area and reached out to DBS regarding our basement finishing service. After discussing with our Design Specialist, it was determined that our crew would install ZenWall™ panels, which contain compressed fiberglass insulation and faced with tan vinyl. For flooring, the crew installed ThermalDry® Basement Floor Tiles which is equipped with a thermal barrier, making the flooring 8-10 degrees warmer than tradition ceramic or vinyl tile. This customer reached out to DBS interested in our Total Basement Finishing services to remodel their laundry area and add a small bathroom to the space. Their basement was unfinished and needed a much-needed upgrade. When our Design Specialist went out to the property, he helped the homeowners construct the basement of their dreams.
