This homeowner living in Clarksburg, Maryland had some HVAC work done in her home recently and was surprised when the guy told her that her insulation wasn’t installed right. She was troubled by this new-found information, she decided to get it taken care of right away!
Ms. Homeowner called Complete Home Solutions to inspect her attic – and the rest of her house while we were at it – with our home energy audit. We knew just what to do to fix her predicament. We started off by taking out the old insulation – which was a complete mess – and air sealing the attic with caulking and weather stripping. We then insulated the attic with loose fill cellulose insulation. She was more than relieved to have her attic taken care of and is looking forward to the awesome results that will come from it!
Properly installed and adequate levels of insulation in the attic space allows the inside temperatures of the home to remain regulated. Insufficient insulation allows outside air to seep in to the home and inside air to seep out through the insulation and through cracks in the roof.
