Heat (types of heat)

Specific heat is the number of BTUs a material absorbs or releases for each degree (F) of temperature change. Water has a specific heat of 1; aluminum is 0.2.           Sensible heat is heat that you can feel. Latent heat is the heat absorbed or released by a substance undergoing a phase change, such as ice changing to water or water to steam.
