During the winter, the house felt breezy. Now that it's warm, the house retains heat pretty well and doesn't stay cool very long. Just moved in December, and they said we had pretty decent insulation. Just wanted to see if there was a no obligation check of the house.

I am purchasing a rental property. We just had the inspection and discovered that the insulation in the attic (950 sq ft) is torn up paper backing insulation. This needs to be removed and new insulation needs to be blown in. I will likely need to have an estimate before Friday (March 31st). Cold drafts not sure where from

Our sons room is very cold at night when we close the door. I put a window sealing kit up this winter and thought it would work as I discovered some of the seals weren't sealing correctly and I could easily feel a draft coming into his room. However, even after doing this, his room gets very cold at night with the door closed.

My upstairs is very hot in summer and cold in winter. i have a steeply pitched roof and very little crawlspace in the "attic" between the ceiling and roof trusses. We purchased the home 3 years ago and was told our home was built in the late 40's. i'm guessing there is only a vermiculite type insulation and in need of further/replacment insulation. i'm interested in getting some feedback from a professional in this area...I have done a bunch of research myself to be an informed homeowner, but would like an audit.
