This homeowner contacted us because their "current insulation [was] over-compressed and not doing its job." This is very common in older homes, insulation settles over time and doesn't help keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We removed the old ineffective insulation, air sealed the attic, and installed a fresh blanket of blown-in cellulose to help make this home more comfortable year-round.
This Dewitt, VA crawl space is encapsulated with a 20-mil CleanSpace vapor barrier, closed-cell spray foam, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, R-11 along the perimeter of the crawl space, and an Everlast Crawl Space door.
This Williamsburg, VA attic has several dormers. As part of air-sealing and insulating the attic space, we needed to install PVs (the gray rectangles you see between the rafters) to ensure that no insulation fell into the soffits and so that proper ventilation can be maintained in the attic. Then we installed an R-38 of Cellulose Insulation.
Moisture was seeping through the porous foundation walls of this basement in Colonial Beach. We installed a durable 20-mil CleanSpace vapor barrier over these basement walls, which will help to collect any moisture seeping through the walls and direct it to the Water Guard XL drainage system. The CleanSpace vapor barrier acts as a barrier between the usable basement space and the outside influences.
This basement in Colonial Beach was having issues with infiltrating water. We created a hole to fit our SuperSump Plus system in connection with the WaterGuard drainage system. This efficient sump pump basin contains a cast iron 1/3 horsepower Zoller pump, a WaterWatch alarm system, a CleanPump sump pump stand, and an airtight lid. Any water directed to this sump system is then drained out of the home via hose line and LawnScape to a predetermined area on the property away from the foundation.
