Room over the garage feels very cold. Other rooms too have a lot of windows that seem to feel cold. The thermostat seems to be in a convenient position that is well insulated and feels very warm around that place. Home is ~3500 sq feet.

I have a Cape Cod that has been dormered upstairs, in the back. It was built in 1971. The upstairs is colder than downstairs in the winter and significantly warmer in the summer. We had window AC in the upstairs only and are installing central air for the whole house with just one unit. We would like to remove the window AC units. There is a "devils attic" above the upstairs living space and a large knee wall area in the front of the house that we use for storage. I need to improve the insulation / ventilation to reduce the temperature differences between the upstairs and downstairs.
