Comment: My crawl space has a few inches of water. The electric bill is always high no matter the season. The floors are cold. I don't think my crawl space is properly sealed or insulated.

Comment: I have an old, uninsulated farmhouse that I'd like to insulate. It presents a number of challenges, and I'd like to get your opinions and potentially have you out to generate an estimate. 1) Our house has aluminum siding. I was told by another contractor that they weren't willing to work with it to insulate the walls. Can you work with aluminum siding? 2) We have a story-and-a-half. The upstairs rooms have flat ceilings in the middle, then sloped ceilings and knee walls at the outside. The sloped ceilings are separated from the roof by the width of one rafter, about 8 inches. We currently have no access to the knee wall "devil's triangle" areas. 3) We had a contractor suggest that we insulate the basement ceiling, putting the basement outside the heated zone of the house. We have already had some issues with pipes freezing in the basement, and I'm reticent to make it even colder down there. I'd like to look at alternatives.
