Comment: This house was built in the 1840s, set on its current stone foundation in 1903. Two years ago, we blew-in cellulose insulation (R-15) in one corner of the second floor. It was blown in from the outside, through individually removed clapboard courses, as the inside walls are original plaster and shouldn't be breached. So the work requires sophisticated carpentry, as some clapboard courses must be skillfully removed and replaced. (Last time, some broke and had to be repaired or replaced.) The work we did previously was very effective, providing good insulation, and we want to do the rest of the house now.
