Comment: We just built our home in 2016. We have two bedrooms over our two car garage and even though our garage does have installation I do not feel that it is enough. We have hard wood floors in both bedrooms and the floors are always freezing. Even wearing thick socks I can feel the ice cold floor through my socks. Comment: I have a raised ranch with a forced hot air system The two rooms (front and back of the house) above the garage are about 5-7 degrees colder than the thermostat temperature located in the hall way. The duct work passes between floors and not attic. 2/3 of the house is good. The garage has a sheet rock ceiling with fiberglass insulation in between. I would like to make these two bedrooms above the garage warmer. My concern is the cost. 2 X 8 Joists. House was built in 1974. The garage walls are sheet rocked but not dry walled.
