At Dr. Energy Saver we often recommend insulating block and poured concrete foundation walls with rigid board foam products, because these walls are straight enough to have foam board attached to them. But how do you insulate irregular, bumpy stone basement walls?
In this episode of “On The Job,” Larry Janesky and his crew insulate an entire stone wall basement using two-part polyurethane spray foam. Spray foam has a high R-value (R-7) per inch, and expands when applied filling gaps and holes in the irregular stone walls, stopping air leakage.
